The population of the SCA has been divided into several geographically
based kingdoms known collectively as the "Known World". L'Ile du Dragon
Dormant is a shire which lies within the borders of the East Kingdom,
which is the second oldest kingdom in the SCA. The East Kingdom's
territory includes the provinces of Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia,
Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island in Canada, and the states of New Jersey,
Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and
Maine as well as parts of New York and Pennsylvania in the United States.
