Heartfelt greetings to all who read these words,
We, Lord Angus McHaley and Lady Tadea Isabetta di Bruno, wish to take this time to formally introduce ourselves as candidates in the current Baronial Election.
The lands and populace of the Barony of L’Ile du Dragon Dormant are held dear in our hearts. This is why we step forward and offer our service to help the Barony grow and flourish in the years to come. The past 10+ years each of us has been in the SCA have demonstrated that we are lucky indeed to see just how remarkable this game can be. We strive to share with others some of the magic and wonder that we have seen.
We view the position of Baronial couple as being guides who listen, inspire, communicate, and challenge so that we may grow as a group and achieve a piece of the magic that initially drew us together. We would also look towards the populace to work with us so that we may benefit in kind.
We would encourage more Pageantry, through actions to set the mood and the décor that surrounds us, so that we may all delve deeper into what a Baronial Court in the middle ages would be.
Our focus would look towards greater communication with our surrounding neighbors, both within our region, kingdom and elsewhere. They are an asset and a treasure with which we have a lot to share and from whom we have a lot to learn.
We would encourage a greater role for the Baronial champions. Be it challenging our neighbors, formally defending our lands or teaching our populace so they too may better perfect their art.
We would work with the Barony as a whole to establish both short and long term goals. Through which we will grow and learn together and may look back five years from now with pride and wonder at all we have accomplished together.
Please know that mentioned above are but a few ideas that we would strive to achieve and are always open to suggestions.
Both of us have served, and will continue to serve, our Royalty and the local Barony the best we can. We have learned and seen much in our time in the SCA and are happiest when sharing our passion of the game. We look forward to the coming years where we will both continue to learn and grow and strengthen the friendships we are lucky enough to have.
To that end we would like to make our intent known so that you make the best informed decision as to who you would like to see lead us in the new era of our fair shores. The work it entails has its challenges and responsibilities, and for that we are ready.
